Basil is used in traditional medicine as an anti-inflammatory, sedative and analgesic, mainly for the treatment of headache, diarrhea, congestion, indigestion, cough, and kidney and intestinal disorders. -The leaves of the plant, from which the essential oil is produced, contain a high concentration of linalool and estragole, ingredients with proven antibacterial, antimicrobial and antifungal properties. -Due to linalool, the essential oil also acts as an insect repellent, suitable for children. -Basil essential oil benefits are often found in dental preparations (e.g. toothpaste and mouthwash), thanks to its antiseptic action. -It also protects against colitis, acting as an antioxidant. -Its fresh and slightly sweet scent is suitable for rejuvenating the atmosphere and setting the tone for concentration.
